Educational Scholarship Guidelines and Application

A Qualified Recipient is defined as any person, individual, group or organization whose objectives are consistent with the conviction and purposes of the FOUNDATION.  

Qualified recipients may be required to disclose financial records requests if made by the BOARD, and must meet all the criteria set forth by the BOARD to be named a Qualified Recipient.  

Educational Scholarship guidelines are listed below. All applicants will be either accepted or denied as qualified recipients, by the Board of Directors of the Jim G. Hetherly Foundation.

Educational Scholarship Applicants will be asked to report their annual household AGI. The Board of Directors retains the right, at its discretion, to request documentation and or verification of all information reported on an application. The Board retains all rights to deny any applicant who is not forthcoming with requested verification of information reported on their application.

No discrimination of any sort related to age, sex, marital status, race, religion or any other factor will exclude an applicant from consideration by the Board. A Qualified Recipient of an Educational Scholarship must meet the following criteria:

1)Complete the written application.

2)Provide any documents requested by the Board of Directors to verify information given on an application.

3)Attend a timely oral interview if the Board deems it necessary.

4)Provide the contact information of the institution of higher education receiving funds for the benefit of the qualified recipient.


A qualified recipient of an Educational Scholarship may be eligible for continued scholarship funding throughout their education, as annual scholarships may be provided to prior recipients. If a qualified recipient, does not attend, or drops out of a program for higher education, they forfeit their present and future qualified recipient scholarship funding. The Board of Directors retains the right to review prior scholastic performance when considering whether to accept or deny continued scholarship funding.
